Sometime in 2009, Horst Munz and Stefan Maier went to see Roland Zitzlaff and Wolfgang Lauer (who were playing with Rossler & Co.). Horst suggested reuniting our old band from the 60's, I.F.E. United and doing a show. Roland sent me an email asking me if I coould do it and I said I'd be there. The concert date was set for Dec. 19, 2009 at Schlachthof (The Slaughterhouse), a cultural event center in Lahr. The regional newspaper, Badische Zeitung announced the concert. |
I arrived Wednesday, December 16th at 8:00am and we had a rehearsal that evening attended by Robert Ullman, a noted music critic who wrote a nice piece about the band . The rehearsal went well. It was good to be singing with my old friends again. The concert was a big success... a standing-room-only crowd. They sang along and despite the cold weather, the room (and the mood) was very warm. |

I'm not sure what song I was singing in this photo, but I was certainly enjoying myself. |

The concert was an emotionally-charged experience for everyone involved. Throughout the concert a team of videographers was recording the event for a DVD. As well, Garry Slater (AltdorfTV) shot a few clips and put them on YouTube. Thanks Garry! ...and thanks to everyone for making this one of life's high points! I can't wait until the next show. | |
